during your stay in Paris, to send them to us and we shall be pleased to add a

LA FONTAINE SAINT MICHEL
Surely you will remember the huge Saint Michel Fountain rising on the Place Saint Michel. When you look at the fountain, with the river Seine in your back, you see, at the left of the fountain, the Boulevard Saint Michel going towards Luxembourg gardens. And, if you take on the right, you will reach the Place Saint André des Arts and, of course the famous rue Saint André des Arts. By the way, in that street, apart from the Amazonia Shop, you will find a guy selling delicious ice creams. And, when you will have sticky fingers after savouring your ice cream, remember you can go and dip your hands in the water of the fountain !
You might be interested to know that this Fountain was ordered by Baron Haussmann and built in year 1860. The bronze statue was inspired by a painting made by Raphael (Saint Michael overwhelming the Demon) that you might be able to see while visiting the Louvre Museum.

PLACE SAINT MICHEL – PLACE SAINT ANDRÉ DES ARTS
When you want to get to QUARTIER LATIN district you may use the tube called here the « METRO ». The first line of Metro was opened in 1900 for the « Exposition Universelle » in Paris. And you might be interested to know that the « Ligne number 4 » which will lead you to Saint Michel was opened in year 1908. Last thing you should know concerns the nice decoration of the entrances of the metro stations. They were created by an Art Nouveau architect called Hector GUIMARD (notice that in France, we use capital letters for last name…).
Anyway, when you arrive at Place Saint Michel you will see many cheerfull people taking pleasure in listening to bands playing and looking at other artists performing or going to shop around the place.
Everything is so close that, in a few steps, you will reach the river Seine. I suggest you take a first look at the nice bridges, you will see the boats (Bateaux Mouches) and the Cathedral of Notre Dame. You will also see the « Bouquinistes » they are second hand book resellers mainly located alongside ot the Seine river.
If you decide to go shopping, you might go on the left of the Fontaine saint Michel towards the rue de la Huchette were you will see, among others, all these restaurants (Greek food but not only) with people at the door trying to convince you to choose their place.
If you decide to go shopping at the right of the Fontaine Saint Michel, you will quickly reach the Place Saint André des Arts. Three steps more and you will enter the rue Saint André des Arts. Many nice shops and many good restaurants are waiting for you in that well known street.
Aftrer about ten minutes walk, you will reach the rue de Buci or the rue de l’Ancienne Comédie and, a little further, the Odeon district.
